Abstract:
The book presents the 4th tome of Corpus of Byzantinorossica. There are byzantine literary monuments (until 13th century). Among them are texts of agiography and epistolography, various memoirs, historical and nature study. The book includes translations and accompanied by commentary of all these monuments, where Russian-Byzantine relations are described. The Greek texts of the old-Russian “Vita Antonii” and the “Vita Pheodosii” are especially interesting.

In the era of Peter I areas of Russian settlement began to take shape around prisons and winter hut of pioneers which consolidated the structure of the Russian state in the northeast. The tasks of creating a transport infrastructure for the outskirt led to the construction of the Irkutsk — Yakutsk tract and the settlement of Russian yamsky peasants there. Composed at the beginning of the 18th century a small stratum in the population of the Yakut district, Russian population played a significant role in the development and consolidation of Russian statehood in the “new lands” which was reflected in various forms of the communicative space of the studied period.

PHJ No 1 (37) 2023 – Choi Deokkyoo, I.O.Ermachenko. The Russo-Japanese War, Japanese occupation of Korea and the secret activities of L.V. von Goyer in the Far East (1904–1910)

The article is devoted to the activities of Lev Viktorovich von Goyer (1875-1939), one of the prominent employees of the so-called “Shanghai agents”, an intelligence service established in April 1904 and operating in close contact with the Russo-Chinese Bank. All aspects of his covert work during the Russo-Japanese War and in the coming years after its end are comprehensively characterized.

PHJ No 1 (37) 2023 – S.L.Firsov. Reflection of the Korean War in the satirical press of the USSR (оn the example of the magazine “Krokodil” 1949–1950)

The article deals with the “ideological historу” of the first period of the Korean War of 1950–1953, which found a peculiar reflection in satirical articles and political cartoons published in the Soviet magazine “Krokodil”. The author shows the methods by which the Soviet reader was convinced that the initiator of the war was the South Korean side, led by Lee Syngman, supported by “American imperialism”.

In the article on the basis of the materials of Leningrad of 1950–1960s such element of the everyday life of a city dweller as the leisure sphere is scrutinized. The author pays his attention to the number and geographical location of cultural institutions in the urban space, the variety of forms of recreation and their financial affordability. Having analyzed these aspects the article assesses the extent to which the altered standard of living of a Leningrader during this historical period correlated with the quality of his life.

The article examines the question of the degree of influence of the abolition of the “Customs Convention” in 1895 on Swedish-Norwegian relations, as well as the degree of involvement of economic issues in the political struggle between the two countries. The main objective of the study is to try to answer the question — whether the termination of the convention was a political action or had economic expediency.
